No one is aware of the fact that GPU prices have skyrocketed in a generation. the RTX3080 costs $699 at the start but the RTX4080 is inexpensive $1199or a 71% Increase. Likewise the RX7900XTXis an RTX 4080 competitor that is above the RX6800XT is 53% more expensive. In any case, MSI has also spoken out about NVIDIA’s pricing strategy.
MSI Response to NVIDIA
at Twitterin a now-deleted tweet, MSI openly stated that the RTX4080 has a “bad price”. The tweet can be found herealthough we have attached a screenshot that we were able to get.

It seems rather odd that an official account of a major AIB would post such a tweet. But then again, they have a point. The choice of words could have been a little better. The tweet makes sense given the price difference between the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4070 Ti is huge, pending $400,
In fact, according to many reviewers, the RTX 4070 Ti is no better than that RTX 3090Ti. It lags behind the amp king in ray tracing and is slower in most if not all games. NVIDIA presented the performance of the 4080 12GB, which portrays it as being slower than the 3090 Ti. Then they did a complete U-turn when their charts indicated that the 4070 Ti is faster than the RTX 3090 Ti. To make matters worse, they again used the ‘up to 3x faster than the 3090 Ti“Marketing jargon.
The main concern is the increase in GPU prices across all segments. If the MSRP for the high-end segment is skyrocketing, so is the low-end market. Take the GTX 1050 and the RTX3050 for example. The former costs straight $109while the latter costs quite a lot $249. That is a 2.5x increase over two generations. Well, technically one, because Turing never had one RTX2050.
AMD could present Navi32 at computex this year with the unveiling of NVIDIA RTX4070 and the RTX 4060 Ti. The pricing is completely unknown at this point and will most likely go through various revisions during the production cycle of these GPUs.
